Overview

How Amanda McKee and Cassandra Cain Do The Hero Thing

Welcome back dear listener! It’s the second episode of our 2019 Women’s History Month special, hosted by LaKase and Wilson, titled “On Their Own Terms: The Unbreakable Women of Media”. They’re giving you a quick up to speed on two dope characters that are beloved by many but aren’t greatly highlighted within the mainstream — Amanda McKee (Livewire) and Cassandra Cain (Batgirl/Orphan).

You can get the collected trade paperback volumes of Unity and/or Harbinger via Valiant’s website and you can get Livewire single issues via your local comic book shop.

For Cass Cain, her first appearance is Batgirl #567 if you want to jump on from the very beginning. The issue which deals with her facing off against her mom, Lady Shiva, is Batgirl #73 (Blood Matters, Conclusion).
